Staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu is not too large but has something for everyone. Good options for imported drinks, and they have plenty of specials. The unagi don was delicious, as was the scallop maki.
This neat sushi spot on the corner of Richards and Pacific Streets makes all the fan favourites rather well and has a few unique dishes to showcase the creativity of the chef. This is our local go-to, and it is always a warm greeting from the owner (and chef) the moment we enter, and a friendly farewell when we leave. You will notice plenty of regulars who either dine here or swing by for take out. The fish is fresh and served in generous portions. For something special: we recommend their Rising Sun roll which uses a delicate soy bean wrap which adds a subtle accent to the mix of soft filing and crunchy roe topping. Otherwise, any combination of their other rolls makes for a nice, balanced meal.
This is one of the few places in Vancouver where you can enjoy great food at very reasonable prices, despite the high cost of living. Chef Tom is not only friendly but also highly professional. He has been making sushi in Vancouver for many years and has also trained at a long-established sushi restaurant in Japan. It’s a family-run business, and now his son is also training to become a sushi chef. This restaurant has a deep understanding of Japanese food culture. You can enjoy your meal while chatting with him at the counter or relax at a table—either way is great. I really like this place.
Been coming here for years. Their sashimi is always fresh, with nice seasonal offerings. The sushi are made with fresh seasonal offerings as well. Beer is served with an ice chilled glass, which is nice. The owner and chef is very nice and friendly, as are the staff. It's not a high end place, but the quality of their food is comparable to more pricey places in town. Definitely worth a visit.
A true gem - chef's bright smile welcoming us was only a fitting intro to the amazing food - loved all we got, the rolls, sashimi and unagi

The ambiance is inviting and the restaurant is always clean. Overall, Kaide Sushi is a top-notch sushi restaurant in Downtown Vancouver.
My favourite sushi place in Vancouver. Super fresh fish and amazing quality, all at a cheaper price than bougier fancy places. Everyone I’ve brought to and introduced to Kaide have had it become one of their top 3 sushi places in Van
My sisters and I spent about an hour searching for the right sushi place to go to while in Vancouver. Kaide was exactly the vibe we were looking for. A cozy family feel where the hosts were super friendly and sweet each time someone walked in the door. The music was perfect and then of course the sushi was super tasty! The sashimi was buttery, the rice perfect, and we had to order the mango salmon rolls a second time. Definitely recommend.
